Poll: Name One Internet Marketing Tactic You Would Suggest
Well, after much time has elapsed (My fault), I finally have a list of the top internet marketing tactics that some of my friends and colleagues have assembled. These are tips they personally have used, and highly recommend no doubt because of positive results. Before I list these however, let me fill you in on a few of the people that helped with this.
Alex Paen - Real estate agent in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Richard Perry - Web designer in Wilmington, North Carolina
David Wallace - CAD drawing, engineer, architectural drawing pro.
Kevin Dean - Social Media Marketing Pro in Grand Rapids, MI
Nigel Cox - Tech Support Analyst, Internet Marketing Pro.
Dan Guay - SEO Specialist in the US, Canada & UK
Russell Burr - Recruiter for Onward Search, the top SEO placement agency
Jim Kinkade - Sales Manager for Audio Acoustics, Springfield, MO
Tim Moore - Owner of SmoorePhoto.com, Wedding Photographer in Kansas City, MO
As you can see, these come from several backgrounds, but each one gave a fantastic tactic, so here is the list!
- Social Media Marketing
- Putting the words “Free Gas” in your email subject lines. At least people will be motivated to look at it for 2 seconds.
- Blogging
- Well built, structured website with good & solid copy
- TWEET, TWEET! (Tweeter, Social Media)
- Social Networking - Twitter, LinkedIn, and Blogging
- Search Engine Optimization (Best ROI)
- Being listed in Google & Yahoo
- Collect email addresses. Keep in touch with visitors, and form a relationship, build into future sales.
- Social Media, Networking.
From this list, it appears that most of us chose Social Media Marketing….I couldn’t agree more. However, one colleague did make a good point, SEO is in my opinion the best return on investment. So many people are just not optimizing their site!! The best money website owners could spend, is on a solid search engine marketing specialist professional.
But, if you want exponential traffic, and blow away your server & bandwidth, do your selves a favor and employ a social media marketing campaign. It takes time, but you will build long lasting relationships, back links, and tremendous traffic. I am sure Kevin Dean won’t mind if I put a plug in for him, so do yourselves another favor and take a look at his site, he specializes in Social Media Marketing, he has some really great ideas and products over there.
Thanks everyone for your input!
